HSA for Clinic Membership
Bill HR 6199 was passed in the house and is on its way to the Senate. This bill will enable patients to use their health savings account (HSA) to pay for Direct Primary Care clinic memberships. As you know HSA is pre-tax dollars, so this bill will soon enable you, if you have HSA account, to pay your clinic membership fees through pre-tax dollars.

Those of you who have high deductible health plan (HDHP), also should have a health savings account into which you put pre-tax dollars to pay for healthcare costs. Due to a weird IRS rule, HSA could not be used to pay for subscription fees for Direct Primary Care clinics. But, with HR 6199 passing in the House and soon to be passed in the Senate, you will very soon be able to pay your monthly subscription fees through HSA pre-tax dollars!! Another small step to transform the way healthcare is done in this country and another big step to help make membership in our clinic more attractive.
Direct Primary Care bundles very well with HDHP health insurance plan. If you are on HMO or PPO plans, you should definitely look into HDHP for an opportunity to save $$$. This savings is not at the cost of quality of care, on the contrary, with DPC membership, your quality of care is the best out there. It is an overall win-win.

DPC doctors pay off medical debt!
Direct primary care is really a force for the good of the society. Direct care doctors in Kansas paid off medical debt for hundreds of patients. “When I worked within the large hospital systems, I couldn’t tell you how much an MRI was. Or what a lab would cost the patient. As doctors, we had been blinded to the cost of care, and – whether we like it or not – we bore some responsibility for patients’ bills,” noted one of the doctors.
