Message from Dr. Bhavana Rao

This is my first newsletter to all my patients and subscribers of Meridian Springs Primary Care. I want to share with you our story on how it all began.
Meridian Springs Primary Care, as you know, is one of a kind Direct Primary Care clinic serving The Woodlands, Spring, Tomball, Conroe, Houston and surrounding areas. We are the first medical practice in the area that is uniquely designed for patient’s needs and satisfaction (and you know this is not a marketing pitch at all!!). I Co-founded the clinic in May of 2017 with a singular focus on patient-centered care and wellness. I have been practicing medicine in The Woodlands and Houston areas since 2008, trained at the Conroe Family Residency program. My husband attended Texas A&M University to get his MBA (whoop!) and did his capstone project on the feasibility of this business model. Together we founded our dream project after his graduation last year.
We started the clinic using a new business model based on direct subscription to the doctor. A model that is like NetFlix for healthcare. Without insurance constraints, patients have immediate access to me using latest technology to connect, whether it be video chat, email or text. Patients also usually get same day appointments to visit the clinic or home visits as is convenient (yes we do home visits as well).
At our clinic, visits are typically an hour long in a relaxed atmosphere where the patient will receive my undivided attention. There are no per visit fees and all procedures at the office are covered by the subscription. You may not be aware of this but we also offer subscription healthcare for International visitors, huge healthcare cost savings for Businesses, comprehensive blood tests for Wellness and Addiction medicine.
I am a big advocate for healthcare reforms and had the distinct privilege last November of attending a dinner in Washington DC with Congressman Kevin Brady to discuss the benefits of using our kind of business model. Congressman Brady is the chairman of the Senate Ways and Means committee. I had an amazing experience sharing the details of this new business model with him. Being from the Woodlands area, Congressman Brady expressed an interest to visit the clinic.
I consider you, my patients and subscribers, as pioneers in helping change the healthcare system in this country. It will not happen overnight, but as you spread the awareness that a solution is already there in the neighborhood, we can hopefully change for the better one family at a time.
